How it works
Your division group
Every group or division meets regularly—most meet weekly during school terms. Meetings can include things like learning about first aid, joining in games and activities or working on an Interest Badge.
Sometimes, you will have fun days that involve visiting new places, participating in competitions and even camps!
Your leaders are there to help you— they will come up with ideas to help you learn and have fun!
Learn and earn
Earn Interest Badges
You’ll also have a chance to earn Interest Badges, which are achieved by taking part in a variety of Interest Courses like Anatomy, Health Care, First Nations, ANZAC, Road Safety and much more. There are so many Interest Courses to choose from!
Grade Badges
Grade Badges are all about first aid. There are 3 grades; yellow, red and black.
As you work on each grade, you will learn more and more important first aid skills.
Interest Badges
Interest Badges are a great way to learn, work in teams and have fun. Juniors have 18 Interest Badges to choose from with topics like Caring for Animals, Fire Safety, the Environment plus lots more. When you finish an Interest Course, you will be awarded an Interest Badge to put on your uniform plus a special certificate!
The Commissioner’s Badge
The Commissioner’s Badge is a very special award for Juniors. When you have been awarded The Commissioner’s Badge, it means you have achieved big things!
Juniors who complete 9 Interest Badges will be awarded The Commissioner’s Badge, which gets sewn on to your uniform. You can even wear The Commissioner’s Badge on your uniform when you become a Cadet!
