The Australian Office is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Felix Ho to the role of National Youth Officer.
Felix will take over the role from James Chandler, our current National Youth Officer who has served two three-year terms in the role and added an incredible amount of value to the St John Youth program. Felix will commence in the role on 25 June 2020.
Please join the Australian Office in congratulating Felix on his appointment and wishing him the very best in the role. We know that the St John Youth program is in great hands.
Introducing Felix
Hello all! I’m Felix and I am very excited and privileged to take on the role of the National Youth Officer. James Chandler has done an amazing job and I hope that I can achieve even a small fraction of what he has done to help advance youth and Cadets around Australia and internationally. I’ve got big shoes to fill and would very much love to have you along the way!
Just a very little bit about me … I’m based in Darwin in the Northern Territory, having first visited there during the National Cadet Camp in 2007—I then decided to move here permanently! I’ve been with St John for just on 19 years, starting in WA, then down in Tasmania and now up in the NT. In a former life, I was also involved in the St John Australian Youth Council (now AYAN) and have made countless number of friends, many of whom I still keep in contact with.
Because of St John, I was lucky to become a Paramedic and, encouraged by many peers, went on to study medicine. I’m a registrar now, working at Palmerston Regional Hospital. St John does indeed take you places!
Apart from attending public duties (which I love), I'm tone deaf but I reckon I could one day become the next lead singer for Coldplay. I’m keen on travel, aviation and anything Star Wars/Star Trek. Feel free to drop me a line; I’m always up for a chat or a cheeky coffee/hot chocolate. Looking forward to meeting you all soon.
