St John Ambulance is a self-funding, not-for-profit charitable organisation. All uniformed first aid personnel (including adult members and youth members) are volunteers who receive no payment.
Most States and Territories change a small registration fee or annual, term or weekly subscription for being involved in the
St John Junior and Youth program. St John may also charge extra activity fees for excursions, camps or special activities in your group/division. As St John is a charitable, not-for profit organisation, these fees or subscriptions help us to offset the costs of providing our youth development programs.
If you are unable to meet financial contributions, please discuss this with your Leaders— St John can often ensure that the opportunities offered by us are available to everyone.
Uniforms
A St John uniform is worn by both Juniors and Youth Members. It helps members of the public to recognise our volunteers who are trained in first aid. The Leaders of your local group/division will be able to assist with information relating to uniform and any associated costs.
