Leadership
Many Youth Members feel that they are ready to take on leadership roles in their division. St John makes this possible by offering leadership courses for young membes with leadership ambitions. Becoming a Level 1 or 2 Youth Leader (in some places, these leaders are called Corporal sor Sergeants) is a great way of learning valuable new skills, helping others and taking responsibility. Ask you Leader about youth leadership programs!
Cadet or Youth Leader of the Year
There are always young members who stand out in St John— someone who has done something special, or gone the extra mile to excel at what they do.
Each year, St John in the States/Territories acknowledge one special and high achieving youth member with the Cadet or Youth Leader of the Year Award. This is a very important appointment!
Competitions
First Aid Competitions are a fantastic opportunity for young members to challenge themselves. There are events for individuals, teams and Youth Leaders (aged 18-25). Competitions are great for:
- demonstrating first aid skills in a competitive setting
- meeting other competitors
- gaining confidence, courage and competence
- being challenged
- learning from hand’s on experience.
